Kerry Mouth Off Link Round Up

Hugh and Dean had more thoughts on Kerry's insult and his non-apology. Plus, Hugh posts comments from Rommey on Kerry's slander. That is what it is!

Also, Townhall.com bloggers Sakaki Onsei, and St Michael have more on Kerry, and Corsair says that Kerry is channeling Otter from Animal House. But wait--there's more!!

Dan and middleclassguy have some thoughts as well. Dan from Denver had this to say:

He continues to demonstrate one of my definitions of insanity...continuing to do the same things while expecting different results.  It this case, when Kerry mispeaks, rather than apologize and let the matter die, he claims he is the one being wronged by offensively being defensive...

Well said!

A Night of "Spiritual Naturalism"

Considering the day, I thought this email was noteworthy. I've had the priviledge of studying under Dr. Dell Tacket. Check out the Truth Project web site, and sign up for the e-newsletter.

If you are church going, I highly encourage you find out how to get someone trained on doing the Truth Project small group.

For most of us, tonight will be a seemingly endless series of little knocks on our front doors, which, upon opening, will reveal a myriad of strangely dressed little (and not-so-little) children. Each will chant the customary "trick-or-treat" and thrust forth a paper bag, a hollow pumpkin, or, for the child-of-great-expectations, a large pillow case.

Our customary part, of course, is to drop into their treasury a pound of sugar in its various forms. The little children will then return to their homes with their spoils and for the next several days or weeks, their parents will attempt, with varying degrees of success and failure, to monitor and moderate the ensuing sugar fest and the consequential hyper-activity that a diet of that sort will produce.

All in good fun, I suppose--and, with the exception of the dental bills, mostly harmless.

Or is it?

Driving in this morning, a radio station was broadcasting all of the songs that deal with monsters or the strange and weird. Tonight's television schedule is filled with a plethora of "dark" movies. Life-size Elvira cut-outs have appeared again in the stores. Humane societies are, for this day, restricting the "adoption" of black cats. Haunted or "horror" houses are available at various locations (even churches) around town. It used to be that all of this was a once-a-year event and we could simply endure it for a day and then get on with November 1st.

But not so anymore.

The night of fun has become a mainstream part of our culture. The messages of popular songs, movies and television are increasingly "dark." New Age and Eastern mysticism thought are pervasive, found even in our kindergartens. The spiritual animation of the material world is a growing phenomenon. Wicca attracts more and more young women into its covens. Whether it is "the Force" of Star Wars or the message of "Charmed," we are seeing a rapid rise in what I call "spiritual naturalism." This is not a movement toward the transcendent God of the universe, but simply adding "spirit" to the matter and energy of the natural realm. I would argue that it is not a movement toward the "supernatural," but more toward the "sub-natural" for it draws people ever deeper into the darkness of the spiritual forces of hell, not heaven.

These are messages that are a sinister attempt to fill the natural void that man experiences when he is without God. Romans 1:20 points us to the fact that God has plainly revealed Himself through His creation to all men. The natural realm is therefore a signpost to the spiritual reality of who God is--the "SuperNatural" using the "natural" to reveal Himself. When man rejects that reality, Scripture says that he turns to unnatural acts, the "sub-natural."

Parents, beware. The messages we allow our children to hear often carry a virus.

Soli Deo Gloria!

HamNation: Liberating Halloween, Hilali-Style

New HamNation episode is up!! Its a good one. Check it out.

Some background:

For background on the Hilali statement, Hot Air had the original story. Outcry in Australia has been pretty impressive-- some from John Howard and some from the country's biggest Islamic organization, which called on him to resign. Allah has more reactions, and a "baby, you know I love you" from Hilali. No outcry, as I noted, from the NOW or Ms. Magazine and its three blogs.

Live: Kerry Refuses to Apologize!!

He says his comments was "botched joke." Ya right!! The only joke is Kerry, and his big mouth. Send him out to campaign--please do!! It can only help the GOP.

I guess Kerry didn't have enough in '04, as he brings in Vietnam again, and keeps making it about his experience in Vietnam. LOL Some people really do have a thick skull!!

Watch him on Fox -- its entertaining.

- He had to throw in a Katrina reference...just for special effect, I guess. He really is throwing out the "righteous indignation" tone of voice.
- He does, of course, have a long list of people that SHOULD apologize.

Mary Katharine had some comments, and has the video of Kerry's words...what do you think? Insult, or misunderstanding?

Kerry Warns Students To Do Well In School, Or Else They'll End Up In Iraq

You ever wonder what Democrats REALLY think about our men and women in uniform? Well, wonder no more--we have it from the mouth of the donkey, figuratively speaking of course.

While stumping for Phil Angelides, Dem gubernatorial nominee of California, Senator John Kerry made the outrageous statement that you should work hard and do well in school, or else you’ll end up in serving in Iraq.  Disparaging our armed forces by labeling them as failures who did not make the most of their education is dead wrong. But more than being wrong, its  insulting and offensive to the men and women who use their unique talents and abilities, and who train hard to do the challenging work of defending our country and our liberty!

Here is the YouTube link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLuMWiQ6r2o

UPDATE: From Hugh Hewitt:

So where are the Democrats denouncing the Kerry slur?

The same place they were at when Al Gore tried to disenfranchise military voters in the Florida recount:  Nowhere to be found.

Maryland Politics: Steel for US Senate

Just found this guy's comments over at HughHewitt.com. Very interesting and very telling. Just a little insight into Maryland politics. I'm rooting for Steel, and have sent in several donations.

Steele's Game
You can tell who's going to win by the folks who canvas for a candidate. I've been approached by volunteers from both parties. Steele: Young, educated, energetic blacks and whites. Cardin: Old, bloated, angry white women

I live in one of the bluest counties in Maryland (and in the country), if the Democrats don't have their game together in Montgomery County, then where do they expect to get their votes?

Dead people can only vote so many times. And if Dems increasingly depend on 3 counties for their votes (Mont./PG/Balt.) then I would suggest they organize GOTV in those counties. A bunch of bored, angry Code Pinkers is not enough.

I suspect, however, that there's been little effort at the DNC to assist Cardin because they thought the Senate seat was an easy win.

Great strategery, libs. Keep it up.

I encourage everyone to head on over to RightRoots and put your change in the tipjar. Every little bit counts. Now is the time to take action.

How to include YouTube Video in your Townhall.com blog

A few Townhall.com readers and bloggers have left comments and emailed me about how to post a YouTube video in your Townhall blog. With the political season in full bloom, and some great and not-so-great political ads being shown through YouTube, now's the time to get into online video sharing!

Now, if you blog in any other blog site, most of these instructions will still apply, so listen up. For those more advanced bloggers, just feel free to move along--this one is for beginner bloggers. Just trying to bring up the next generation of bloggers. :-D

Step One: Identify the YouTube video you want to show on your blog. Once you are on the YouTube video page for the video you want, you need to look for the "Embed" code located on the top right hand corner of the page, as shown in this screen capture. You will need to select the code within the Embed field, and copy it into your "clipboard." You can select the code and copy it by using the Cntrl+C keyboard shortcut.

Step Two: You will want to return to your Townhall "Create New Post" screen, and paste the video code into your new blog post. Two key details: First, you won't be able to preview the video embed, and second, you will need to resize the video to make sure it fits in your blog, and to make sure its not to wide.

To paste the video into your post, you will need to find the "Paste Plain Text" icon indicated in the image below by the red circle. Once you have pasted the code into the "Paste Plain Text" window, make sure to adjust the video size to fit within Townhall.com blog column size. It should be no wider than 400 pixels, and whatever size adjustment you make, it should be the same both for width and heigth, to keep dimensions consistent. So, in this case, I would reduce Width to "400" and then reduce Height to "325" -- you'll have to do this twice in the video embed code from You Tube.

Step Three: Hit OK. That's it. So, like I said before, you won't be able to preview the YouTube video, but you'll know its there when you click around--you'll need to use your arrow keys over the spot where you embeded the video until you see the object tag in the html tag bar below the edit screen. It will look something like this:

Well, I hope this helps for some of you bloggers out there just starting out. I know it can be a challenge with so many things to learn, but thats what Townhall.com is here for--getting every voice a platform and an audience. If you haven't yet, I encourage you to sign up and start your own blog today.

Chicken!! ...got to give him points for being smart though

The fact of the matter is that the more Democrats open their mouth, the more voters can see that they don't stand for anything. A debate between GOP Chair Mehlman and Democratic Chair Dean would be disastrouse for the Democrats. Dean has serious lack of self-control, and would probably lose his cool--that would be quite a show.

So, in short, he's being smart...and a big chicken!! He's scared, because Dean knows his ideas, or lack of ideas, don't have a chance against the Republican platform. I wouldn't do a debate if I was him.

More Dumb Socialists: Citgo launches campaign against boycott

HT to Babalu. There is always hope that he will get voted out. A boycott is the consumer excerting their freedom--that thing people in Venezuela really don't have anymore--and using free market forces to voice their opinions. Its a little more than what most Venezuelan's get.

Citgo Petroleum launched a campaign this week to blunt criticism and calls for a boycott, taking out full-page ads in a number of U.S. newspapers, including The Miami Herald.

Calls for the boycott of Citgo stations increased this month following Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez's controversial remarks, calling President George Bush ''the devil'' at the United Nations General Assembly in September. Citgo Petroleum, headquartered in Houston, is a subsidiary of Venezuela's state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela SA.

The company said consumers had been ''inundated with misleading and inaccurate information,'' especially after 7-Eleven reported a supply agreement with Citgo was ended because of politics. It was a business decision, Citgo said. ''Inaccuracies such as these have led to numerous calls for a boycott of our products,'' the ad said. It contended Citgo was being squeezed for political or economic gain while ignoring the effects of a boycott on American business and the public.

Babalu points out the obvious:

As for Venezuela, it has the highest and fastest inflation rate in the entire hemisphere - even though Venezuela is in the middle of a dollar-based oil boom. Somehow, Hugo spent the cash faster than he could earn it. And now the Citgo boycott is making sure he has even less money than he thought. Oh yes and Hugo's up for reelection in December and no one seems to want to vote for him - not even in the shantytowns.

And what, do you suppose, Chavez is doing with all the money he is spending? Because, he is certainly not spending it in Venezuela. The economy there is dying, and the infrastructure is falling into pieces. Here is a hint: he is financing the growth of socialism and communism all over Latin America.

Central bank President, Gaston Parra, blames the inflation on the government’s sharp increase in spending. “Until now, we have adopted the prudent, necessary measures to combat inflation,” says Parra.

Memo to the world's dumb socialist, including the thousands teaching in our Universities: Socialism doesn't work. What will it take to convince you? How many more must die at the hands of your stupid social experiments?

Socialist Man in the Big Easy

More stupidity in New Orleans. Great article -- read the whole thing.

If there are houses available, why do people still request trailers? It's really simple. Free is always better. Sure, there are homes available but who wants to pay when they don't have to. The government interprets this demand as a housing shortage. At price zero, demand is as much as people want. The realities of availability are thrown to the side so that these bureaucrats can get even more money to bribe disgruntled voters with free trailers calling the problem a "housing shortage."

Van Taylor announces Presidential Endorsement

Just got an email announcing Bush endorsed Van Taylor. Sounds like good news for his campaign efforts. I donated to his campaign a while back, and I'm rooting for him all the way, even though I can't vote for him. Check out his website: http://www.vantaylor.com

Internet Addictions

Glenn reacts to comments on the dangers of Gaming addictions:

Luckily, blogging poses no such dangers . . . or does it? I can quit any time.

Would you be able and willing to do this?

So I have to go.
I know this is abrupt and I apologize for that.
But there is a world of need out there and I need to get back to it.

The BBC had an article on the same Stanford survey results Glenn links to.

"Addicts" showed signs of compulsive internet use, habitually checking e-mail, websites and chat rooms.

More than 8% of the 2,513 respondents to the Stanford University phone survey said they hid their use from partners.

A typical addict is a single, white college-educated male in his 30s, who spends more than 30 hours a week on "non-essential" computer use, it found.

The Difference is Clear: Republicans Support Terrorist Tribunals; Democrats Oppose

The Military Commissions Act passed the House on September 29, 2006 by a vote of 250-170.  162 Democrats opposed the bill.
