Just because I love to help you all, and because its part of my job here at Townhall.com, I wanted to share some answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Townhall.com account login, blog access, and sign up. I know these are basic, but every once in a while, it happens to the best of us.
- What is my Login name?
Your login name is the email that
you provided when signing up for Townhall.com, and the one that the password
was sent to. Enter it fully: yourname@yourISP.com.
- Where is my/how do I get a password?
A computer generated password will
be emailed to you after you complete the signup. After you retrieve it from
your inbox and use it to sign in, you should go to “Your Info” and click on
“Change My Password” and change it to whatever you’d like.
Make sure to put info@townhall.com in your email whitelist,
so your spam blocker does not mistakenly prevent you from receiving your
password.
- Are there RSS feeds available for
columns and/or blogs?
Yes! You can find RSS feeds at http://www.townhall.com/blogs on the
right hand column, right below the search box.
- I am no longer receiving the daily
Townhall emails from Jonathan. What do I do?
All the subscribers to the old
email system were transferred to the new one. If you are not receiving the
emails any more, please check your SPAM filter. If you would like to start
receiving the emails and have not before, go to http://www.townhall.com/Secure/Signup.aspx
to register for a new Townhall.com account, and make sure to select the emails
of your choice before submitting the form. You will be able to unsubscribe for
any or all emails at any time through a link provided at the bottom of each
email.
- I was a member of the old Townhall.com
site (before July 4th, 2006), and my login no longer works.
In order to ensure up-to-date
information, and better service, we are asking that all old Townhall readers
register for a new account, and select which emails they want to receive. Your
previous account information was not saved or carried over to the new site.
- Can I change/edit my blog template?
Yes you can! First, make sure to
log-in to Townhall.com. Once you are logged in, you want to click on the Create
/ Maintain your own blog link on the
Your Info page.
http://www.townhall.com/myblog/edityourblog.aspx
You will find 8 different selections to choose from under “Blog Template” pop
down menu. Feel free to switch them up, and try them out.
- I can’t find Soapbox, TownSquare, NailYale, America 101, or other sections
of the last site. Where are they?
These sections of the Townhall.com
were not carried over to the new site. We hope you will enjoy the additional
content now available such as Podcasts, Action Center,
and Funnies.
- I am not able to find the job corner,
will it return?
Yes. Our engineers are working on
bringing back a new and improved job center.
14. How do I access my blog editing screen?
First, you want to make sure to login to Townhall.com. This will give you
access to your Blog tool, and all other features of Townhall.com
Go to: http://www.townhall.com/secure/login.aspx to login. Your
login ID is your email. You can access this link through the top right
log-in link on every page of the site. Once you are logged
in, you want to click on the Create / Maintain your own blog link on the Your Info page http://www.townhall.com/myblog/edityourblog.aspx.
You will see three different tabs to choose from according to what you want to
do within your blog.
15. I've forgotten my password, so I try the retrieval function. Then the
log-in server won't accept the password. What to do?
If you are copy/pasting your new
generated password, make sure its not copying a space before or after the
password. Also, because of site caching, you may want to hit Cntrl+refresh to
make sure the page is not caching old data. Then try your password. Finally, if
that should not work, email us at info@townhall.com
with your email and name for the account and the words “Password Reset” in the
subject line, and we will reset it to something friendly and email it back to
you so you can get in.
16. Does Townhall support Firefox?
Townhall.com
was created primarily with IE in mind, but functionally, it will work within
Firefox or IE. At times, the layout may not always look the same (we are
working on improving cross browser layout quality) but blogging and using all
other townhall.com
tools is possible using either browsers.
Well, I thought I would post all of that here so it can be found through the search tool. If these don't answer your question, always feel free to email us at
info@townhall.com.
